Great Golf Swings – Terry Kendall
YouTube now features an analysis of the swing of Chamberlain Park’s very own, the late great Terry Kendall.
Chamberlain Park hosted pro-am tournaments here as late as the 1980s featuring all of the NZ greats of the time: Charles, Lister, Owen and of course, Terry Kendall.
Terry had one of the sweetest swings you will ever see. In 1969, at the age of 22, he won the NZ PGA Championship at Mount Maunganui by one stroke from Bob Charles and John Lister.
It was not uncommon at local tournaments for overseas professionals to ask, “who’s that kid with the great swing?”

MOVED by Deputy Chairperson K Smith, seconded by Member L Roe: That the Albert-Eden Local Board: a) acknowledge the recent success of Chamberlain Park Golf Club in winning the final of the Auckland Golf Interclub Division I Pennants event held at Remuera Golf Course; and notes that the team, which had been promoted from Interclub Division II this year, was made up of Chris Kolose (captain), Michael Annandale, Jehan Dharmartne, Jack Lin, Esau Mann, Masame Segi, Francis Sheppard, Lee Stevenson and Lee Tanuvasa.
